#ARCReview Boomer (Ruthless Kings MC #2) by K.L. Savage

Title: Boomer

Series: Ruthless Kings MC #2, Standalone

Author: K.L. Savage

Genre: MC Romance

Release Date: 15 May 2020

I left my life behind me.
My sister.
My MC.
I need room to breathe and room to think, to make my own choices and to own my mistakes.
Bitterness and anger cloud my judgement when it comes to the MC. What is so great about them that I can’t have on the outside? What is so great about the patch?
That is all I’ve experienced with the club.
I hated to leave my sister. She’s the only reason I stayed as long as I did.
But it’s time for something new.
And yet, I find myself searching for trouble, wanting—needing to be someone’s savior.
I have the best poker face, but when I lay down my winning hand and they shove a girl at me, bound and scared, for my prize, I knowI’ve landed in the middle of something bigger than me.
The girl? Scarlett Rose.
My reason for being.
My clarity.
I just have to prove it to her.
She needs protection, and I’ll die before they hurt her again.

“Boomer” is book 2 in the “Ruthless Kings MC” series. When I started the book, I couldn’t predict that Boomer will become my favorite of the Ruthless Kings!! I’m a sucker for broken and crazy characters and Jenkins is exactly that!

Boomer always felt like an outsider in the MC. He can’t get past the fact that the MC cost him his father. Even though Reaper and all the others raise him, he harbors too much anger. That’s why he decides to leave Vegas and ends up in Atlanta City. He might have left, but the MC is still haunting him. The Atlanta City chapter is involved into some really shady business, and after he learns about it, he has to do something about it.

“Scarlett is by far the biggest boom I will ever experience.”

Scarlett was a normal college student before he was kidnapped by some bikers. She wakes up in a basement, chained up and in the dark. The people that took her are kidnapping women and use them as sex slaves and then either kill them or sell them. Scarlett is determined to escape, so she comes up with a plan. After one of the other women escapes, she’s saved by a man, Boomer.

“He might think he’s fucked up, but he’s my kind of fucked up, my mess, and I want him just the way he is-a little crazy and a whole lot of passionate.”

Their connection is instant. From the time their eyes meet Boomer knows that Scarlett is meant to be his. However, his inner demons are poisoning him constantly. Scarlett is the only one that can sooth his inner voices. He brings him calm and peace. I could definitely see their connection. I knew that Boomer had issues, but I didn’t fully understand what he has to fight.

I was happy to see some of the MC members as well. I hoped to see Sarah as well, but she was only mentioned. I was expecting their reunion after he left. Hopefully, we’ll see more of her in the next book! The series is getting better and better and I’m super excited for the next books!! I’ll be eagerly waiting for Tool’s story; I’m sure that it will be a good one!!!

Other reviews from this author:

K.L. Savage decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.

They write about gritty, alpha males, sometimes their dark sides, and the women they love.
If you have the same itch, their alpha males should fix that.
