Axel Wainwright. British rock god. Bad boy.

He sets the crowds on fire with his voice and his words.

Singing backup for him is my dream job.

My big chance to get recognised and become a star.

Music is my life and now it consumes me.

HE consumes me.

But I have my career to think about; I’ve worked years for this.

I need to keep my distance from Axel, or he’ll burn me to ashes.

Except, guess what? The best-laid plans have a habit of going wrong.

My name is Phoenix Johnson, and, like Icarus, I’ve flown too close to the sun.

Another winner by SC Daiko! The book had been sitting on my kindle for nearly a month and I’m so excited that I finally got to read it. At the time I’m writing this post, I have just finished reading the book and that warm feeling I got reading it it’s still fresh!

I’m a sucker for bad boys with a heart of gold, and Axel is exactly that! Freshly out from rehab after losing his sister from drugs he’s in search for a new backup singer for his band “Chimera”. That’s when Phoenix comes into his life. Her life has been hard for a while, so the opportutiny he gives her is enormous.

The chemistry between them is trasparent from the first time their eyes meet. The author managed to make me feel it through the pages and I couldn’t wait for this thing between them to start. Sadly not everything is easy between them, and the tour life and circumstances are making things worse.

I really enjoyed the book and I’m so excited that we are getting more books in this universe in 2020! I can’t wait 😍
