SYNOPSIS

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can’t believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing..

JAMSU’S REVIEW

3 Stars

This book was a disappointment even though my expectations were low. Loose ends were solved but I just felt like this book wasn’t necessary after Origin.

I loved how Daemon was so amazed by Katy: her badass-ness, how she looked and even compared her to goddess of vengeance.

I was just very disappointed with Blacks in the beginning of the book, especially with Dee. I felt like I wanted to push her down those stairs. This whole book was just very bad for Katy and I felt bad for her.

I’m glad Katy and Daemon didn’t fight the whole book, like they did in book one and two but she forgave him too easily. Daemon obviously wanted to keep her safe, but still. Female characters need to do some yelling when male characters tread them wrong, OK?

I can’t wait to read The Darkest Star. I need more Daemon and Katy, Hunter and Serena and I need to find out Nadia’s fate. After Dee’s comment about how changing gender would be weird, I’d love to see her reading Magnus Chase series 😉

I’m a little sad that this was the end of our buddy read of this series but hopefully I’ll get Demi to buddy read The Dark Elements with me soon.

  1. I loved having someone talk these books with. Hopefully we can do another buddy read soon. It feels like it was only few days ago when we started Obsidian.

I’m going to miss Daemon and Katy but hopefully they’ll make an appearance in The Darkest Star.
