SYNOPSIS

I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.

She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.

But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

***
He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?

But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.

News flash, buddy: I am over you.

MY REVIEW

4 Stars

I always enjoy Kendall Ryan’s books! This one is no exception. I fell in love with Jane and Weston’s story from the start and I could wait to see how their story progresses!

Jane works in a man’s world, being an assistant manager for Hawks football team. Her arranged and mildly boring life changes when Weston comes to play for the Hawks. Her and Weston were together more than a decade ago and they didn’t break up in the best way. He was her only long-term boyfriend and he shattered her heart back then.

Even though she doesn’t want to have anything to do with him, Weston finds a way for her to give him another chance. I liked how they actually talked and cleared what happened all these years before. When there’s communication we don’t have unnecessary drama!

However their second chance is not smooth and they get hurt again. I was so sad for both of them because I could see the love they have for each other but they didn’t! I reached the end of the book without realizing it and I really wanted more. I really loved the epilogue and I’m looking forward to reading more from these characters! I’m waiting eagerly for Alex’s story!!
