From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes a dark and twisted retelling of the beloved fairytale, Cinderella!
My name is Ashley Ellis…
I was thirteen years old when my mother – retired supermodel, Tig – married Mosier Răumann, who was twice her age and the head of the Răumann crime family.
When I turned eighteen, my mother mysteriously died. Only then did I discover the dark plans my stepfather had in store for me all along; the debauched “work” he expected me to do.
With the help of my godfather, Gus, I have escaped from Mosier’s clutches, but his twin sons and henchmen have been tasked with hunting me down. And they will stop at nothing to return my virgin body to their father
…dead or alive.
** Contemporary Romance. Due to profanity and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.**

I don’t know where to start! I seriously loved this book. I believe that this is my favorite Cinderella retelling. Katy Regnery gives us a book with its own storyline, that has some Cinderella references thrown in!
Ashley didn’t have the best childhood. The daughter of a supermodel, who was also addicted to drugs and alcohol, put her through some things no child should go through. She’s mother decided to clean her act by marrying the head of the Raumann crime family. After her death when Ashley turns 18, her husband’s true plans are being revealed. I never liked her stepfather one bit; he’s seriously sick and repulsive.
With her godfather’s help she manages to escape with a diary her mother kept. That diary gives us more intel about her mother’s thoughts and life. Her godfather Gus (see the Cinderella reference!) takes her to live at a farm, where she meets Julian. He doesn’t want her there and makes no secret of it.
I found hilarious that her godfather calls his boyfriend PC as in Prince Charming 😛 The Cinderella references are spot on; Jack’s aka PC both surnames mean mouse and her godfather’s name is Gus!
Julian had a woman in his past that broke him and made him distrustful of women. However, he manages to exorcise his demons with Ashley’s love. I loved the ending! It was powerful and beautiful! I’m looking forward for what comes next!!
