Here’s the thing: I started reading this book thinking that it was a dark romance but then I figured out that it is a psychological thriller and saw it with different eyes.
I don’t think that I’ve read more messed up characters than Church and Emma. Seriously their moral compass is not even broken; it’s non-existent! The whole story about why they are like this is focused mainly on the way their mothers treated them. Both of them won’t win a mother award anytime soon.
They are both so messed up that they are perfect for each other! Their kind of crazy is not the same but they complete each other perfectly. At times, Church’s thoughts made me think of some Criminal Minds episodes 😛
I was kind of shocked with what Emma found out at the last chapters and actually predicted the way she acted. The book doesn’t really end on a cliffhanger, but it leaves us at a point where I need to see what Church and Emma will do next!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Crazy woman from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since … forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.
I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.
Yeah. I think that about sums me up.
